The Kenbo Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people around the globe by providing financial assistance to those who cannot afford education. It was established in honor of Rei Umekubo's brother Ken Umekubo, who passed away in 2002. He was known as a generous man who helped countless of individuals in his travels abroad. The Kenbo Project aims to continue his legacy of helping other people.
One Kenbo Project initiative dedicated to helping people access education is the International Scholarship Project. This program concentrates on Nepal. A large percentage of children in Nepal have financial or family problems that hamper them from attaining education.
As this project concentrates on providing college scholarships, its focus is on children who have already completed high school but are unable to proceed to college. To learn how you can help send a Nepalese child to college, visit www.kenboproject.org.
